Contract furniture for bars and restaurants
We opened a new nepali restaurant in Birmingham. We were trying so hard to give it a completely different look and atmosphere compare to other Nepali restaurants in the UK. Basically we wanted to bring Nepal in to the UK. We wanted traditional yet modern furniture and interior decoration.
On one of the family gathering, we were discussing on how we can bring something different, which is not already there, so we decided on a gourmet Nepali restaurant.
Everyone of the family was hunting for a perfect venue and after 4 weeks of hard work, we finally found the venue we wanted, perfect location, perfectly built for the decoration we had in mind. Now it was time to choose restaurant furniture, as beginners in this field we didn’t know where to find traditional yet modern furniture, so we decided, few of us will travel to Nepal and get it from there and so we did. Lots of old antiques and cultural decor were picked from our homes and used at the restaurant.
One of the hardest jobs is to look for contemporary furniture. As we knew the look and decor of the restaurant is one of the things people/customers will judge. Few tricks few of my family members learned from their previous careers in hospitality industry was when you’re arranging furniture, try to think ‘outside the box’. Use furniture or accessories in unexpected ways so that people find it interesting and unique.
We weren’t scared to try new things. We found what works best for us in our present situation. A tip if you are choosing something to buy would be select it with flexibility and versality in mind and do a lot of research.
