EA does well with the new Need For Speed
After renting out the new Need for Speed Shift I came back rather impressed. Some of the last additions of the game have really not been very good at all. A lot of the previous editions of the Need For Speed games have actually been pretty poor.
This game has actually got a chance of competiting with the new Forza game which is on the way later this month.
The playability of the game really is quite brilliant with many hours having to be spent finishing all of the races, tuning the cars to suit your needs and playing it on the various difficulties. Some of the online modes are certainly going to take a while to get into.
This game isn’t about used cars for sale but more about the custom made models from the likes of BMW, Ford and every other car maker you can think of.
Need for Speed in terms of fun does actually seem a lot better than Forza but having only played the demo of Forza it might be a bit too early to tell. Forza seems to have a better engine when it comes to graphics as well as having a larger selection of cars.
EA has made a surprising move this year by concentrating on the driver and how the driver would feel whilst driving the car. EA has made it so that if you crash or bump into someone you feel like the driver in that the screen will go blurry, high speeds are also shown in this way.
Really it is up to you, both games have demo’s available on the Xbox Live Marketplace so decide for yourself!
