Is it Worth Switching Your Heaters Off in the UK?
The UK has cold winters, it would literally be impossible for people to survive without the relevant heating in place. But as soon as the spring months hit, people begin to switch off their central heating so that they can save themselves money.
But the inquiry I am asking today is, is it really worth switching the heaters off, in person I do not think that it is here in the United kingdom. The grounds I say this is because of the fact that we only genuinely have about a calendar week of sun and proper warmth in the UK. The rest of the summertime is showery, cold and dull. Ok it may not be as bad as the winter months, but I can literally assure you that not having any heating on while you sleep will make you awake with a terrible sore throat.
Another example of this is taking a look at swine flu and its spread. Health officials said that the flu would die off for the summer and then hit back in the winter when the flu season is at its peak, this has not happened in the slightest and swine flu has actually spread at a faster rate. Once again its literally due down to the cold summer we have had, there was about a week of sun and then it turned cold again. The virus has more ability to hit harder in the chilly months when peoples immune systems are at an all time low.
So keeping your cheap heating oil topped up this summer will also help keep away the pesky viruses. As well as that you will also get dandy deals and savings on your oil in the summertime months, so you could potentially save yourself more money then actually switching them off completely.
